CONSUMER INFORMATION

The Honey with Echinacea and Propolis join two natural antibiotics and immune stimulants, on which several scientific researches exist. The presence of the honey provides a pleasant flavor and it benefits the organism with its medicinal properties.

It is use to aid in the treatment of the infections and inflammatory processes (laryngitis, influenzas, sinusitis, etc.), and helps in the therapy for the increase of the immune resistance of the body.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

The Echinacea angustifolia is an original plant of the United States and are used since several centuries for the native Indians of this country. Already in 1907, the echinacea was the most popular herb used by the American medicine. It promotes the increase of the defenses of the organism, activity this confirmed through numerous scientific studies. The immune modulator effect is showed in several levels: through an increase in the leucocytes production and lymphocytes, increase of the properidine rate, increase in the interferon production (chemical mediator of the immune logic system), inhibition of the hilauronidase (enzyme of the bacteria that hurts healthy cells) and the increase of 20 to 30% of the phagocytes capacity of the macrophages. It also has an antibiotic effect, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory.

The echinacea is constituted by a range of compounds that are responsible for its biological activity. They are: alcamine (isobutilamide), esters of the caffeic acid (mainly echinacosids and cinarine), pirrolizidinics alkaloids, polysaccharides, volatile oils, echinolon, betaine, phytoesterois.

The propolis is a resinous and balsamic substance, it has some coloration and consistency, varying to brown color to dark green. It is produced by the bees from leave sprouts and exudates of plants, and used inside the beehive, " to fix " comb honey, to lacquer the alveoli, to close breaches for entrance reduction of cold wind, and, mainly, to protect of the natural enemies: fungus and bacteria. It is also use to embalm small animals killed by the bees inside the beehive, which could not be getting out, avoiding in this way their putrefaction.

The chemical composition of the propolis depends on the botanical ecology of each area and by the bee race, but in general, it is compose of 50% of resin and balm, 30% of wax, 10% of essential and aromatic oils, 5% of pollen and 5% of several other substances. Until the moment, they were already more than 200 chemical compounds identified in the propolis, like: flavonoids, aromatic acids, terpenoids, aldehydes, alcohols, aliphatic acid and esters, amino acids, steroids, sugar, etc. The intense studies on propolis reveal that these compounds are the responsible for its several physiologic actions: anti-microbe (it works as a natural antibiotic), anti-inflammatory, healing, anesthetic and antioxidant (it combats the free radicals).

Uniflora works only with selected propolis from that is obtain; through equipment developed for maximize the extraction, an extract of highly concentrated propolis. Our laboratories analyze the composition of each extract and prepare a " form blend " to obtain the standardized propolis extract that is used in the products production.

The honey is produced by bees from the nectar of the flowers. It is a rich food, which presents in its composition simple sugars with fast assimilation on the organism, mineral salts (potassium, sodium, calcium, phosphorus, iron, manganese, etc.), amino acids, enzymes and vitamins. It presents the following properties: expectorant, fluidifying, healing, and antiseptic.

Honey facilitate the ingestion and absorption of the products, and prevents the oxidation of its ingredients.
