TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Catuaba whose
scientific name is Trichilia catigua is one of the
more acquaintance plants of the Brazilian popular medicine,
due to its aphrodisiac property. The Tupis Indian was the

constituents: catuabina (substance makes bitter), aromatic
matters, tonics, resins, grease and alkaloids similar to
the atropine and ioimbine. The alkaloids are found on the

Guarana was
the Indian name for the seed of the tree Paullinia cupana.

area of the river Tapajos to the basin of the river Madeira.

is the food of the queen bee, produced by the bees in a
short period of its lifes. The difference of this feeding
of the queen in relation to the workers allows it to develops
its sexual organs, has posture of eggs and live up to 05
years (35 to 45 days for the workers). Its composition presents:
mineral salts (manganese, calcium, sodium, potassium, sulfur,
phosphorus, aluminum, silicon, iron, copper and zinc), lipids
(3 to 5,5%), carbohydrate (10 to 20%), proteins (12 to 22%,
and it contains 18 of the well-known amino acids) and vitamins
(B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B8, B9, B12, A, C, D, and E)
The presence of E vitamin
together with sexual hormones of the royal jelly stimulates
the sexual activity. It has been used in Europe and East
